Liberty is not a gesture
Freedom, generally, is having the ability to act or change without constraint. Something is free if it can change easily and is not constrained in its present state. Freedom and peace are linked.
But that′s not what the picture is talking
about. It zooms in on the village, again and
again. From high above, from some satellite, you
can see the huge monocultures of the
agricultural fields. Wheat and maize, maize and
wheat. And also rape. Always in turns. The
forest was also straightend, so that the fields
and roads became rectangular areas.
Strangely enough, language enables a
communication of passion in a way that gestures
cannot. The tone and emphasis of the linguistic
communication are decisive, not its content.
This point enables Rousseau to establish a close
connection between the purposes of language and
melody.
It is real, this New Village. It exists. Just like satellites.
